one fish. two fish. red fish. new fish.

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to get a chance to celebrate a growing baby boy at my beautiful friend Alyce's baby shower.

(you might remember her Guy or Doll themed gender reveal party back in March or the baby shower she and Sarah organised for me back in September)

It was a Dr. Suesse themed shower... and every single detail was just perfect!!

The party was hosted by these two amazing people:

My seriously pretty friend Sarah (seriously, isn't she gorgeous!?!)

and Alyce's amazing sister, Erin!

These girls did SUCH a good job with this party; from the invitations to the decorations to the food to the games. You all know how much I love a good themed party, so when I say it was amazing.... it was seriously amazing!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves (sorry there are so many but I just couldn't narrow it down anymore) as we take a look back on Alyce's special day with family and friends...

As you can see from these pictures... Alyce, her husband Ryan and their growing baby boy are so, so loved. I know I speak for everyone who knows them in saying that we can't wait for his arrival in late July (don't come before the 17th because I'll still be in Florida!!!) so that we can wrap our arms around his little body and kiss his little cheeks.

ps. Erin and Sarah... you guys are truly amazing! What a beautiful celebration for such a special sister and friend.

y'all.

I would first like to say... what IS the correct spelling for ya'll... y'all...??

Wikipedia says y'all, noting that it was originally spelled ya'll because people acutally used the work "ya" as slang for "you" back in the 19th century. Urban dictionary says ya'll is the way stupid people spell y'all and this guy says y'all in the ONLY correct way and is very rude passionate about people getting it right!

y'all, you guys, you lot, you-uns or as they say in Austalia- yous.

Okay, moving on...

I have read a few things over the past week that offer some really good advice/secrets to life and thought you might like them too. Here are my favourites mixed with a few of my own and some recent instagram pictures that have nothing to do with this list at all. Enjoy!

1. Never put anything off that takes less than a minute to do (ie. putting your dish in the dishwasher instead of the sink)

2. When your house is clean, you feel less stressed.

So happy with himself! #lovestoeat #lachlangram

3. Everybody has done something they are less than proud of.  Judge lightly.  Unless they keep doing it over and over and over.  Then you can judge however you feel like.

4. Ice cream fixes most problems.

5. Talk slowly when you are in an argument.

#Standing #iputhimthere

6. There will always be someone in your life who offends you. Start expecting it and you won't feel offended every time. Or better yet, tell yourself everytime they say something rude you get to buy a new pair of shoes.  You'll start looking forward to the insults!

7. Exercise can suck while you're doing it, but it feels good after.

Well wouldn't you know Lachlan was wearing his BF shirt on the same day he got a gift in the mail from his BFs Nana!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! #helovesit @ginnyg8r

8. Nobody's life is really like the movies.

9. Plans change.  That's okay.  Abandon that which no longer serves you.  Be willing to be flexible and see other paths than the one you originally planned on.

My phone was hijacked! #selfie #lachlangram

10. If you can't remember somebody's name just ask them. It is better than waiting months until it is too late.

11. If you don't do the dishes tonight, they're still there tomorrow.  They don't do themselves.

12. People don't notice your mistakes as much as you think.

13. If you don't feel like cooking because you are stressed and overwhelmed, pizzas are only $10. Give yourself a break.

14. Don't invest too much time, energy, and passion into things you have no absolutely

no control over.  Like professional sports teams or how tall you are.

15. Don't judge your house, fashion or crafting skills by Pinterest standards.

Look who is wearing shoes today! @ginnyg8r would be so proud

16. Perfect is simply a street sign at the intersection of impossible and frustration in Never Never land.

17. Always make time to encourage new moms. It will mean more to them than you know.

18. Remember that what you see of other people's lives is never the whole story. We all have our bad days, unfolded laundry, fast food meals and dust bunnies. No one is perfect.

In other news, there are some big things coming up over here at the de Baugy house that may or may not involve taking our roof off and building up... !!!! but more on that later...

Have a happy Wednesday y'all!
