Day three truly delivered the best weather of the weekend. Warm and sunny… but not too warm or too sunny. It was just right.
After two straight days of adventurous driving, Max decided it was time for a slight change. While the Suzuki is amazing and fast and orange and blue… it really isn’t all that comfortable. Our backs were sore. Our butts were sore. Our my stomach was sore. Overall we were both ready for a bit more comfort. Enter the Land Cruiser- or Big Betsy as we like to call her. The name started out as a bit of a joke, but like all nick names it just stuck and now she is what she is. Big Betsy.
And boy is she comfortable! It is like riding in a bus- but even BETTER. We were so used to the bumps and jolts in the Suzuki that out of habit Max yelled out “HOLD ON” to the first big jump we hit that day. As Betsy gracefully rolled over the bump with just the lightest little bounce, we died laughing and quickly let go of our death grips that were no longer needed in this baby. She was smooth! And she has a radio so we finally got to listen to some good tunes (well good to me because it was my music) as we rode through the hills in comfort.
The day went on just as the previous two. Riding along, boys laughing at each other getting bogged and daring each other drive up and down the biggest dunes they could find. It was fun and really good to see Max so happy and in his element.
Brooke, the videographer of the weekend!
Poppin’ wheelies (or whatever you might call this…)
Besties.... or is that just a term for girls?? Either way- these three are besties :)
The girls.
The only problem with this entire place is the distinct lack of bathrooms. And by “distinct lack” I mean there are none. Never mind what I might be doing behind this bush. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!
As the sun started to slowly fall, we all resigned to the fact that this was the end of the weekend’s adventures. But the weekend could not end without Sledge taking Brooke for one last ride. It just happened to be on the biggest dune we could find.
The picture is a little blurry… but I think you get the idea of what she might have been feeling, haha.
Until next year...
Wonderful weekend! Thanks for sharing with us.
