winter beach get-a-way: part I.

Last weekend we organised a winter weekend away to Rainbow Beach. We usually drive up there for the day, but this weekend we decided to rent a beach house and invite friends. Looking back through our pictures, I now realise I forgot to take any of the actual house (oops!).  It was a big one story house with a pool.  It slept ten but we squeeze in way more than that!  Overall, it was a great weekend away... something we all needed I think!

Most everyone arrived on Friday evening. We just hung out at the house that night before getting up the next morning for a day of beach and four wheel driving.

A few of the boys had a very big night on Friday, so we decided to go for a short drive that morning while they slept it off. The first thing we do when we get on the beach is lower the air pressure in the tires.  Doing this makes it easier to drive on the sand by increasing the surface area of the tire (you know... all of that science stuff).

Once everyone was awake and ready to go, we took off down the beach to Double Island Point and set up the volleyball net while we waited for everyone else to arrive.

After we broke all of the sporting equipment (sorry Nerissa!) and had eaten all of the food, we took off to go four wheel driving on some inland tracks.

Poor Max had to deal with me, Nerissa, Emma and Alyson laughing for about 2 hours straight.
It was such a great time though (for the girls anyway, lol).

I guess we missed the "white car" memo...
